The 20 Most Popular Long Distance Moves of 2016

The average person moves more than 11 times in their life, but most won’t stray too far from the same location, according to census studies.

But what about long distance moves?

SpareFoot recently teamed up with Moving.com to uncover the most searched for long distance moving routes in 2016. Moving.com allows consumers to compare between local and long distance moving companies and get free moving quotes.

The following 20 routes were the most frequently inquired about for people looking to find a professional moving company on Moving.com’s site in 2016, in order of popularity. Moving.com has provided the estimated cost for each route, based on a two to three bedroom home without packing. (You can calculate the cost of your move with this calculator.)

SpareFoot has added the average cost to rent a 10 x 10 storage unit in each destination city. We also noted the change in U.S. Census reported median home price, median rent price and median income for each move.
